SEMO & Center Street Station Partner for New Personal Finance Course to Empower Employees

In partnership with the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce, Southeast Missouri State University and Center Street Station have launched a Personal Finance course tailored to equip individuals with essential financial skills. Developed by SEMO's Division of Economic and Workforce Development and exclusively introduced to Alan Wire employees, this program is designed to foster financial confidence and enhance money management strategies.

The course offers comprehensive training on topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, and retirement planning. Through hands-on sessions and expert-led discussions, participants gained actionable insights and practical tools to improve their financial decision-making. While the program is currently being rolled out for Alan Wire employees, SEMO is actively seeking opportunities to provide similar courses to other local and regional businesses, helping employers invest in the financial well-being of their workforce.

"Offering this course is just one example of how we can support local businesses with practical, impactful training for their employees," said Dan Presson, Assistant Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development at SEMO. "Our goal is to provide a range of educational opportunities that businesses can tap into, whether it's financial literacy, leadership development, or technical skills training."
