Sumeru Announces New Hires & Promotions

Sumeru operates at the intersection of people and innovative technology. We have the privilege of partnering with terrific people to help scale some of the most innovative, culture-forward SaaS and enterprise technology platforms. Today, we are thrilled to introduce several new team members and announce well-deserved summer promotions!

2024 Associate

Sumeru is pleased to announce two mid-year promotions and a new addition to our 2024 Associate class, which includes Douglas Hayes & Emilio Karakey-promotions from analyst to associate-and new Sumeru hire Nira Ramamurthy.

• Douglas Hayes joined Sumeru full-time in 2022 as an Analyst, also having spent the previous two summers at the firm as a Fellow and summer Analyst. He has been actively involved across several Sumeru investments, including Q4 Inc., Ceros and Loopio. Douglas is a graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
• Emilio Karakey joined Sumeru in 2022 as an Analyst and has been actively involved across several Sumeru investments, including Tasktop, iProov, and 360Learning. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.
• Nira Ramamurthy joins us from Goldman Sachs as an Investment Banking Analyst. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.

2024 Analyst Class

Sumeru is delighted to welcome our third class of Analysts: Jacob Mejia, Caroline Culmo, and Jai Kondapalli.

• Jacob Mejia rejoins us post-graduation from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in finance. He also recently completed a summer Analyst Investment Banking internship at Goldman Sachs.
• Caroline Culmo joins us having most recently completed a summer internship with LLR Partners and graduating from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Economics and International Studies.
• Jai Kondapalli joins us having most recently completed a summer internship with KKR and graduating from Georgetown University with degrees in Finance and Philosophy.

Growth Team & Firm Operations Hires

We are excited to announce the expansion of the Sumeru growth team with the addition of Sultan Gyulakhmedov, who joins us as an Operating Associate. Sultan was most recently a Product Manager (Global Data) at Source Scrub. He also holds a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Polina Ikaeva joins us in our NYC office as an Administrative Assistant and Office Coordinator. Polina's background includes significant experience in administrative operations at Christian Dior Couture, Jimmy Choo, and Henri Bendel.

Promotion of Vincent Cao to Senior Associate

Alongside Douglas and Emilio, we would also like to congratulate Vincent Cao on his promotion to Senior Associate. Vincent joined Sumeru in 2022 and has been actively involved across several of the firm's recent investments including Consensus, Q4 Inc., and Loopio.
