Rhode Island Energy to donate more than 280 volunteer hours to local organizations through annual Day of Caring

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (September 18, 2025) - Continuing its commitment to supporting customers and communities across the Ocean State, Rhode Island Energy (RIE) will be holding its annual Day of Caring on Thursday, September 18. Through this effort, RIE employees will participate in a variety of volunteer activities across the state, working to make a positive impact in the communities where they live and work.

During RIE's Day of Caring, employee volunteers will contribute to supporting eight vital community organizations across the state. Local initiatives range from organizing pantries, setting up community events, garden clean-up, and more.

RIE team members will take part in the following volunteer activities:

RIE's Day of Caring is part of its parent company PPL's company-wide volunteer effort, inspiring reflection of the company's shared commitment to compassion and community. The annual Day of Caring will gather hundreds of employees from PPL Services, PPL Electric Utilities, Louisville Gas and Electric, Kentucky Utilities, and RIE who will be out in full force, creating a lasting impact in the communities where they live and serve.

In 2025, RIE alone will contribute over 600 volunteer hours to local organizations and communities across Rhode Island.
