‘Hellbound’ Resurrects: Season 2 Teaser Trailer Unveils New Characters and Greater Chaos

Back from the depths, Hellbound Season 2 premieres on October 25, with a new teaser trailer and character key art offering a glimpse of the extensive universe and ensemble cast.

HellboundSeason 1 was deemed the Best Horror Series in the 2021 Golden Tomato Awards and acclaimed by global viewers and critics, ranking within the Top 10 TV list in 93 countries just ten days after its release in 2021. This unique dystopian universe returns with Season 2, set in a world with continued hellbound decrees and demonstrations. Lawyer Min Hyejin (Kim Hyun-joo) of Sodo, The New Truth, and the Arrowheads are further entangled amid the sudden resurrections of the formerly condemned New Truth Chairman Jung Jinsu (Kim Sung-cheol) and Park Jungja (Kim Shin-rock).

As the first Chairman of The New Truth, Jung Jinsu revealed that he received a prophecy from the angels 20 years ago and faced his demonstration by the monstrous executors in secret. With his return, audiences are curious about what's in store for him next.

New faces appear in Season 2: Cheon Sehyeong (Im Seong-jae), the first person to meet the resurrected Jung; Lee Sugyeong (Moon So-ri) the political affairs secretary who aims to use the New Truth and Park Jungja to restore order and balance to society; and Miss Sunshine (Moon Geun-young), a devoted Arrowhead follower. What role will these new characters play in the Hellbound universe?

The teaser trailer highlights the resurrected Jung Jinsu and Park Jungja, marking a new chapter within the chaos of hellbound decrees and demonstrations. As the New Truth buckles after Jung's disappearance and the condemned baby's survival, the Arrowheads grow in power with their terrifying rituals, hinting at the greater chaos in store next season. "As someone who loves the Hellbounduniverse, I'm both excited and nervous with anticipation for the series to meet fans after three years," says director and writer Yeon Sang-ho. "For anyone who enjoyed the first season, Season 2 will be filled with interesting questions to think about."

The second season of Hellboundreturns on October 25, only on Netflix.
