The Great Kaw Adventure Race (GKAR) will be returning in 2025, taking place on Saturday, September 27. GKAR is a multi-faceted adventure race taking place throughout the City of Eudora and select areas of surrounding Douglas County. The race involves running, biking, traversing the Wakarusa River, and intellectual challenges all over the course of one fun-filled afternoon.
This year's event will kick off the morning of Saturday, September 27, at the Village Green section of the Nottingham Redevelopment District (just north of the Eudora Community Center). The current route includes approximately 3.75 miles of running, 10 miles of biking, and 2.25 miles of river travel, as well as several mental and physical challenges along the way. This year, the race will primarily take place entirely in the City of Eudora, with some sections of the biking portion in eastern unincorporated Douglas County.
