State Route 24 (SR-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closures of Bore #1 and Bore #2 Maintenance Work

Schedule Monday October 6th and Tuesday October 7th
10:00 PM-4:30 AM each night

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of the Caldecott Tunnel on eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24) for inspecting roadway drains and tunnel maintenance of bore #1 and bore #2.

Closure Schedule:

Bore #1 Closure

• Monday, October 6, 2025 -will be closed from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Bore# 2 Closure

• Tuesday, October 7, 2025 -will be closed from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

During the work, all other bores in each direction will remain open. All work is weather dependent.

Traffic Control Measures:
Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
