ICE arrests criminal illegal alien convicted of shooting a man in face in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - ICE New Orleans arrested Aldo David Herrera-Andino, a 22-year-old criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of felony reckless aggravated assault, during a targeted enforcement operation in Nashville Oct. 6.

"Herrera-Andino shot a man in the face, left him fighting for his life, and fled the scene," said ICE Assistant Director of Public Affairs Micah Bock. "He later admitted to the shooting and pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault. Violent offenders like Herrera-Andino have no business remaining in our communities. ICE will continue holding them accountable and removing those who threaten Americans. The Trump administration's message is simple: If you come to this country illegally and commit violent crimes, ICE will find you, arrest you and pursue your removal.

Herrera-Andino admitted to the shooting and pleaded guilty Sept.24, and a Davidson County judge sentenced him to five years of probation.

U.S. Border Patrol arrested Herrera-Andino in March 2021, after he illegally entered the country, but released him under the Biden administration's disastrous catch-and-release policies. He is now in ICE custody, where he'll remain pending removal proceedings.

"ICE is committed to protecting communities by arresting and removing illegal aliens who commit serious crimes," said ERO New Orleans acting Field Office Director Scott Ladwig. "Through targeted enforcement operations and close coordination with our law enforcement partners, ICE will continue to pursue individuals who threaten public safety and uphold the rule of law."

Under President Trump, Secretary Mullin and acting ICE Director David J. Venturella's leadership, ICE is once again focused on enforcing the law, protecting the public and removing dangerous individuals from our communities.
