Grassley Applauds Immigration Enforcement Efforts Following Enactment of the One Big Beautiful Bill

BUTLER COUNTY, IOWA - The One Big Beautiful Bill Act allocated significant federal funds to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), dramatically enhancing ICE's ability to safeguard American communities. The ICE funding was shepherded into law by the Senate Judiciary Committee, under the leadership of Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

"America's brave ICE officers are putting their own lives on the line to make our communities safer," Grassley said. "I was proud to secure historic investments in border security and immigration enforcement through Republicans' One Big Beautiful Bill Act. These measures ensure law enforcement officers have the tools they need to protect American citizens from foreign criminals and terrorists. I applaud ICE for its tireless work to defend our nation."

As part of Republicans' One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Grassley championed the largest border and immigration investment package in modern history to enhance the recruitment and retention of ICE staff and support enforcement and removal operations. These resources assist the Trump administration's efforts to arrest dangerous, criminal illegal immigrants, including:

  • 356 illegal immigrant gang members in Texas, who were convicted of nearly 1,700 criminal offenses;
  • Two illegal immigrants in California who were convicted for kidnapping and sexually assaulting six women, aged 15 to 21, at gunpoint;
  • Eight illegal immigrants in New Jersey who were convicted of child sexual exploitation;
  • An illegal immigrant and drug lord in Florida, who was wanted for 29 known murders;
  • An illegal immigrant in Pennsylvania, who was wanted in Honduras for aggravated femicide and attempted homicide;
  • An illegal immigrant in Connecticut, charged with child endangerment and abuse;
  • An illegal immigrant in Rhode Island, charged with two counts of solicitation of a child and child trafficking;
  • Over 200 criminal illegal immigrants in Texas, who were charged with, or convicted of, child sex offenses;
  • An illegal immigrant in Minnesota, who was wanted in El Salvador for child rape; and
  • An illegal immigrant in Los Angeles who was convicted of second-degree murder and indecent exposure.

Background:

On July 4, 2025, President Donald Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law. The legislative package included significant judiciary provisions to strengthen national security, reform the immigration system, expand resources for law enforcement, protect American families and fight judicial overreach.

Multiple major law enforcement organizations - which represent over 310,000 officers nationwide - lauded Grassley's efforts in the One Big Beautiful Bill.
