YATP Community Musical Theatre Workshop

Our Productions Theatre Co., through its Young Artist Training Program (YATP), will hold the first of two free Community Musical Theatre Workshops, on Saturday, Feb. 28, 9-11 a.m., Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

This event is free, but advance online registration is required.

Thanks to a grant from Our Productions Theatre Co.'s generous sponsors, this event is offered to youth/teens in 5th-10th grades. Other ages considered on a case-by-case basis. The workshop is taught by YATP Master Teachers and Industry Professionals. It is best suited for serious young artists who are considering a career in the arts.

Attendees will enjoy this jam-packed, high-energy, "Day in the Life" of a conservatory artist to grow their skills and dive into their craft. Musical theatre dance, acting, and vocal tech will be covered during this workshop which will be a great workout for all levels of students. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably with closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes, and tie long hair back.

Our Productions Theatre Co. is one of ten local groups receiving funding from the City of Lewisville through a grant program designed to foster cultural and fine arts in the community.

The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events, including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features the 294-seat Huffines Performance Hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.

To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Please be aware that heavy construction at the Main Street intersection with I-35E could cause traffic delays.
