City Hall will reopen Monday, Jan. 5, and City Hall-based departments will resume normal operations on that date. More information on the winter closure is available here.

Street-sweeping services will be paused during this time, with regular service resuming on each street's first scheduled service day on or after Jan. 5. More information on street sweeping, including the citywide schedule, is available here.

The Hayward Police Department's Customer Service Counter will be closed on both Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25, as well as on Thursday, Jan. 1. Otherwise, the counter will be open during regular hours between Dec. 22 and Jan. 2. The Hayward Animal Shelter will also be closed on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, in addition to all Sundays and Mondays.

The Permit Center will not schedule inspections between Dec. 22 and Jan. 2. Staff will begin scheduling inspections upon their return to the office Jan. 5. Submittals and payment received before Wednesday, Dec. 17 will be processed ahead of the business closure, but submittals after Dec. 18 will be processed beginning Jan. 5.

Both branches of the Hayward Public Library will be closed from Dec. 22 through Jan. 2. Online check-outs of books, movies and more are available via the digital library 24/7 here.
