Garland Welcomes Fleet Services Director

Boring brings more than 30 years of experience in Fleet Operations and Fleet Administration across the public sector. For more than 12 years, he directed the City of Austin's fleet of more than 7,000 vehicles and equipment, the 10th largest municipal fleet in the nation. His leadership has spanned fleet operations, acquisitions, vehicle services and emerging technologies. Earlier in his career, Boring served with the City of Dallas, Galveston County and the City of Irving, advancing from mechanic to senior manager.

Boring has also played key roles in citywide initiatives. He was certified as an ISO Internal Auditor for Safety, Environmental and Quality with the City of Dallas, and he served on Austin's Emergency Management Response Team. During the 2020 pandemic, he was appointed Chief of Logistics for Austin/Travis County, coordinating staffing, PPE procurement, testing and vaccination sites, and temporary housing operations in partnership with state and federal agencies.

Outside of work, Boring is an avid DeFi and fintech economics buff. He and his wife, Lisa, enjoy home improvement projects and share their home with two very spoiled dogs.
