The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that starting on or about Monday August 4 new traffic patterns will be implemented on both northbound I-95 and northbound Rt 896. (All work weather permitting)
Starting on the evening of August 4, 2025 the Rt 896 southbound to I-95 northbound on ramp will be closed overnight to implement a new traffic pattern on I-95 northbound. The new traffic pattern will maintain 3 northbound through lanes on I-95 northbound, 2 to the left of the work zone and one to the right of the work zone. There will also be single dedicated lanes for both northbound and southbound Rt 896 on-ramps to I-95 northbound.
Additionally, on or about the evening of Thursday August 7, a new traffic pattern will be implemented on northbound Rt 896. Traffic traveling northbound on Rt 896 from Glasgow towards Newark will remain in the current Contraflow pattern. Traffic exiting I-95 southbound to Rt 896 northbound will be shifted to the right of the work zone.
