On the occasion of the National Day, President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia, Nikola Nikolov.
President Khachaturyan congratulated the friendly people of Bulgaria, the country's leadership, and the Ambassador, wishing them prosperity and continued success.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, congratulations, and good wishes, the Ambassador noted that it was a great honor for him to be hosted at the Presidential Residence.
"Armenia and Bulgaria share centuries-old strong historical, cultural, and spiritual ties," the Ambassador stated, adding that he is making every effort to expand and strengthen bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for strengthening relations between the two countries. They emphasized the importance of effective and coordinated cooperation both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the European Union.
They also touched upon regional developments and the opportunities arising from the unblocking of communication routes, both from the perspective of promoting ties among the countries of the region and enhancing Armenia-Bulgaria economic relations. The sides exchanged views on the TRIPP project as well, highlighting its contribution to deepening regional cooperation.
The meeting also underscored the importance of consolidating and strengthening democratic institutions and values as a foundation for sustainable development and mutual trust.
