CALEXICO, Calif. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection advises travelers to anticipate potential delays when entering the United States from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, through the vehicle lanes at the Calexico West Port of Entry.
Crews will begin construction at the Calexico West vehicle crossing on the afternoon of Nov. 5, and continue through Nov. 6. The work includes concrete placement and site preparation within the vehicle inspection area.
Travelers should expect intermittent pauses in both SENTRI and regular vehicle lanes during this period.
While officers will continue processing vehicles, travelers should use caution when approaching the port and prepare for the presence of construction equipment and work crews. CBP encourages travelers to allow additional time for their border crossing and to expect intermittent lane pauses through Nov. 6.
Travelers can monitor wait times on the Border Wait Times website or by downloading the Border Wait Times mobile app on their smartphones.
