On Friday March 26, 2026,Mount Sinai Health System (Mount Sinai) joined the Government of Grenada to mark the groundbreaking of the new general hospital under Project Polaris, a significant milestone in a collaborative effort to enhance and expand health care services for the people of Grenada.
Mount Sinai is supporting the Government of Grenada, the Project Polaris team, and key stakeholders in the development of a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The project reflects a shared commitment to strengthening clinical capacity, expanding access, and advancing health outcomes through thoughtful design and evidence-based care models.
"Today's groundbreaking represents an important step forward in a deeply collaborative partnership," said Jonathan Wetzel, FACHE, Executive Director, Mount Sinai International. "From the earliest stages of planning, our teams have worked closely with colleagues in Grenada to help shape a clinical model that reflects both international best practices and the unique needs of the community. We are proud to support this effort and to contribute to a vision centered on excellence in care."
Throughout the planning process, Mount Sinai experts have worked alongside local partners to develop care delivery models, workforce strategies, and operational plans that support both patient and staff experience.
