WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 4, 2026 - JLL Capital Markets announced today that Ari Azarbarzin has joined the firm as a Senior Director in its Washington, D.C. office. Azarbarzin will focus on multifamily and build-to-rent (BTR) investment sales across the Mid-Atlantic region, with an emphasis on transactions in secondary and tertiary markets throughout Virginia and Maryland.
Azarbarzin brings more than 10 years of multifamily investment sales expertise to JLL, having executed over 120 multi-housing sales throughout his career. He has worked with a broad range of clients, including private, middle-market and institutional investors, and has built deep market knowledge and relationships that position him to help clients pursue strategic portfolio growth in a variety of non-core markets.
Prior to joining JLL, Azarbarzin held senior multifamily investment sales roles at Cushman & Wakefield and Northmarq. He is a past recipient of the Baltimore Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award and CoStar's Power Broker Award, recognitions that reflect his sustained performance in the multifamily investment sales sector.
"Ari's deep knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic's secondary and tertiary multifamily markets, combined with his long track record advising private and institutional clients, makes him a strong addition to our team," said Jamie Leachman, Senior Managing Director and co-head of JLL's Washington, D.C. Capital Markets team and JLL's National Multi-Housing team. "As investors look beyond gateway markets for multifamily and build-to-rent opportunities, Ari's experience and relationships across Virginia and Maryland will help us continue delivering strategic value to clients working with us across a variety of non-core markets."
"I've spent my career focused on the multifamily markets across Virginia and Maryland, and I've seen firsthand how much opportunity exists outside the primary metros," said Azarbarzin. "Joining JLL gives me the platform and resources to work even more closely with clients on their portfolio strategies in these markets, and I'm looking forward to building on the relationships I've developed over the last decade."
