With Riverfest, a free two-day public event activating the full length of the Riverwalk and several parks, along with a Tampa Bay Lightning watch party at Water Works Park, expect heavy traffic and large crowds of pedestrians this weekend in Downtown Tampa, beginning Friday.

The heaviest traffic along the river could extend four blocks or more from Curtis Hixon Park (see map below).

Friday, May 1

  • Life Surge @ Tampa Convention Center - 8 AM
  • Riverfest @ Curtis Hixon Park - 5 PM
  • Straz Shows @ 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, 8 PM
  • Lightning Watch Party @ Water Works Park - 7 PM


Saturday, May 2

  • Life Surge @ Tampa Convention Center - 8 AM
  • Step Out Walk @ Perry Harvey Park - 8 AM
  • Straz Shows @ 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 4 PM, 8 PM
  • Riverfest @ Curtis Hixon Park - 11 AM

To make getting around easier, consider using alternative transportation options like the FREE TECO Line Streetcar, DASH service, Pirate Water Taxi, HART buses, Uber/Lyft, rentable scooters, or walk / bike the beautiful Riverwalk!

Reminder: All City of Tampa downtown garages offer free, covered bike parking and Riverfest will also offer FREE bike valet located on Ashley Drive at Curtis Hixon Park.
