NEW YORK, NY - April 7, 2026 - Audacy announced the launch of "Family Lore," an original narrative podcast series hosted by Lloyd Lochridge that unspools tall tales passed down through families across America.
"Family Lore" will launch on April 8, 2026. New episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays everywhere podcasts are available. Listen to the trailer and follow the show here.
Each episode of "Family Lore" begins with an irresistible family story and then digs deeper, investigating the real history behind the lore. Who actually invented the margarita? Was Rosie the Riveter more than just a symbol of American grit? Did a backyard invention change the world of outdoor sports? What starts as a story told at the dinner table becomes an unpredictable journey through the fascinating backroads of American history, all driven by one compelling question: how much of the lore is really true?
"Great family stories we carry across generations invite us to question what's real, what's remembered, and what's been reimagined over time," said Leah Reis-Dennis, Head of Podcasts, Audacy. "'Family Lore' brings that curiosity to life-blending rich storytelling with thoughtful historical investigation to uncover the truth behind the tales we pass down. Lloyd has a remarkable ability to turn personal history into compelling audio, and this series is a perfect example of how original podcasts can both entertain us and deepen our understanding of the world around us."
Lloyd Lochridge is Audacy's Executive Producer of Narrative Originals and a veteran producer specializing in original documentary podcasts. His past projects include the Edward R. Murrow Award-winning series "Gone South;" Jon Meacham's "It Was Said," winner of the Webby Award for Best Podcast; and "Root of Evil," which Rolling Stone listed as a Top 25 Best True Crime Podcast of All Time.
