NMU Faculty Receive Reassigned Time Awards

Eight Northern Michigan University faculty members have been selected as recipients of Reassigned Time Awards for the winter 2025 semester beginning in January. Each award provides up to four credit hours of release time to support scholarship activities.

The recipients' names, departments and research proposal titles are:

Kaycee Jacobson, Nursing, "Instructor Characteristics that Increase Self-Efficacy in Nursing Students."

Sylvain Giroud, Biology, "Establishment of a colony of thirteen-lined ground squirrels."

Matthew Jennings, Clinical Sciences, "Analytical Validation of D2HGlo."

Vikash Kumar, Social Work, "Bridging the Gap: Identifying Skill Deficiencies in Nonprofit Agencies to Enhance Social Work Education Programs."

Sara Potter, Communication and Media Studies, "Rewiring for resilience:
narratives of chosen kinship and communal mothering in the aftermath of hurricane maria" and "Midwifery in disaster: A look into feminist culture-centered healthcare practices."

Meghan McCune, Sociology and Anthropology, "The Great Lakes as a 'Climate Haven': The First Wave of Contemporary Upper Peninsula Climate In-Migration."
