Interagency Land Management Agreement
Department of Public Safety

Subject to AS 38.05.020, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Department of Public Safety
PROJECT NAME: Horseshoe Ridge Communications Site
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The site is located on the Horseshoe Ridge area on the east side of the Nenana River, about one mile north of the Denali National Park entrance and off the west side of the Parks Highway, containing approximately one acre.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tract A of U.S. Survey No. 2177, Alaska according to the survey plat accepted by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management on February 7, 1980, and that portion of the lot of Section 34, Township 13 South, Range 7 West, Fairbanks Meridian, Alaska, containing one acre, more or less.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), received an application for a Interagency Land Management Agreement (ILMA) from Department of Public Safety (DPS) for an existing telecommunication site on state land, located on Horseshoe Ridge. The purpose of the proposed authorization is to allow for the maintenance and operation of the telecommunication site.
REQUESTED TERM: 55 years, we are considering a maximum term of 25 years.
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: March 12, 2026
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
