NSU Steel Band forming for fall semester
NATCHITOCHES - The NSU Steel Band is inviting students and community members to learn a new instrument while playing in a musical ensemble.
The Steel Band will meet on Thursdays beginning Jan. 23 from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Room 116 of the Fine Arts Annex. Anyone with an interest in learning to play is invited to attend, even those with no prior experience.
The group will play fun island tunes and pop arrangements on the steel pans, the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago. To see the band play, go to https://youtu.be/fY6hOpblejs
