ICYMI: Cassidy Applauds New Trump Efforts Protecting Children from Chemical & Surgical Mutilation

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, applauded the Trump administration's recent actions to protect children from irreversible chemical and surgical castration.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a new policy preventing Medicaid dollars from being used for gender transition procedures for children. Additionally, the Department of Health and Human Services launched a new online portal allowing whistleblowers to submit a tip if health care facilities are engaging in the mutilation of children in violation of federal policy.

"The Trump administration has made it clear: American taxpayer dollars will not be used to harm children," said Dr. Cassidy. "I commend President Trump's leadership and look forward to working with his administration to protect children from irreversible damage."

Cassidy is leading Senate Republicans in protecting children from the dangerous effects of irreversible gender procedures. Earlier this month, Cassidy demanded the World Professional Association for Transgender Health comply with President Trump's executive order that ensures children are not subjected to chemical and surgical castration.
