NEWS: Senator Blunt Rochester Sees Impact of Federal Funding with Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity in Dover

Dover, Del. - U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, today a property in Dover that was purchased with federal funding she secured on behalf of Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (CDHFH). Senator Blunt Rochester, along with her partners in Delaware's congressional delegation at the time, obtained the $600,000 Congressionally Directed Spending grant in Fiscal Year 2023. CDHFH completed the home in 2025.

"Throughout my time in Congress, I've been proud to secure federal funding for organizations making a real impact on the lives of Delawareans, like Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity," said Senator Blunt Rochester. "I was grateful to join Habitat on this tour and see the impact of the work we're doing in Washington up close. I look forward to continuing our partnership to ensure all Delawareans have a safe and affordable place to call home."

Senator Blunt Rochester is dedicated to addressing our nation's housing affordability crisis. In September, she introduced "The New Way Home Agenda: A Federal Framework to Address America's Housing Crisis," her comprehensive legislative agenda to lower the cost of housing in Delaware and across the nation. In October, the Senate passed the ROAD to Housing Act, a landmark bipartisan housing package that contained three of Senator Blunt Rochester's bills and would spur the development of housing and bring down costs across the nation.
