São Paulo, September 1, 2026 - Netflix Brazil has just released the trailer for Habeas Corpus , its first legal drama, starring Marjorie Estiano and Any Gabrielly . The trailer offers a glimpse of what viewers can expect over the course of the eight episodes premiering on September 23 - a story that blends courtroom tension with touches of melodrama and complex personal relationships, tied together by the pursuit of justice and redress. In the trailer, we see Inez (Marjorie Estiano), a lawyer and former criminal defense attorney, bring together a group of students to revisit the case of a young man who may have been wrongfully convicted. Her efforts are driven by one of the central questions at the heart of the story: does everyone truly have equal access to justice? Among the students is Marina (Any Gabrielly), whose connection to the case - and to Inez herself - runs much deeper than it first appears, concealing a personal agenda rooted in an injustice from the past. As the group searches for answers, secrets come to light and long-held assumptions begin to unravel. Gradually, the investigation reveals that delivering justice in the present will mean confronting the truths of the past. Directed by Luiz Villaça, who also created the series with Leonardo Moreira and Donna Oliveira, Habeas Corpus is produced by Café Royal, with Adriana Tavares serving as executive producer. Episodes are directed by Villaça and Flávia Lacerda. The screenplay, written by Leonardo Moreira, is inspired by real cases and by the work of the Innocence Project Brasil, an organization that investigates and helps to overturn wrongful convictions in the country. The cast also includes Felipe Ricca , Hypólito , Luiza Gabus , Naruna Costa , Nicolas Lee , Paula Cohen , Pedro Roza, Renata Gaspar and Tato Gabus Mendes.
