Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with Ambassadors and Representative of the Embassies of Eastern European Countries

On 29 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with Ambassadors and representatives of the Embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Romania, the Republic of Türkiye, and Ukraine to exchange views on the recent developments along the Thailand - Cambodia border, with particular focus on the ceasefire arrangement and possible next steps.

The Thai side briefed and exchanged views on efforts to sustain the ceasefire through bilateral mechanisms and ASEAN frameworks. He also shared information on preparations for the release of 18 Cambodian soldiers 72 hours after the ceasefire, in accordance with the agreement between the two sides, as well as on humanitarian demining efforts and the Minister of Foreign Affairs' participation in the trilateral meeting between Thailand, China and Cambodia in China. The Thai side expressed its readiness to cooperate closely with friendly countries and its commitment to supporting joint efforts to strengthen security and achieve sustainable peace. The diplomatic corps expressed appreciation for the briefing and for the establishment of channels for communication on this matter.
