Dallas GO Water Bill-

Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas Master Plan Update- October 8 & 15

Parking Meter Rate Changes-

Hispanic Heritage Festival- 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. Saturday, October 5

The City of Dallas Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center will host the Hispanic Heritage Festival. This is an in-person community event. The festival is free to attend. Mini Mercado- 10:00am to 2:00pm Saturday October 5

Fretz Park Fall Festival- 1:00 to 3:00pm Saturday October 5

Fun for the whole family awaits at the Fretz Park Fall Festival! Get into the spirit of spooky season with us as we celebrate all things Autumn! Decorate a pumpkin you choose straight out of our Fretz Park Pumpkin Patch! Play festive games, create cozy crafts, or take a spooky selfie! Faith & Blue- 9:00am Saturday October 12

Join the Dallas Police for their inaugural "Unity within the Community Walk" to promote understanding, foster stronger relations, and mutual respect throughout our city. For more information see FLYER.

Fire Safety Education & Health Fair- 10:00am to 2:00pm Saturday October 12

The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department would like to invite you to participate in their "Fire Safety Education & Health Fair." A mission of the department is to promote public safety, health, and foster community relationships. Bring the family to this fun event which will include free food, smoke detectors, music, vendors and more. For more information see FLYER.

A Day of Remembrance- 10:00am to 12:30pm Saturday October 19

The Dallas Police Department and partners are hosting this "Day of Remembrance" in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Attend this community event to raise awareness, support survivors, and strive for a future free from violence. See FLYER for more information.

Sukkot Dinner- 6:30 to 8:30pm Monday October 21

Part of the robust fall Jewish holiday season, Sukkot is a celebration of the harvest. During the 8-day holiday, it is the tradition to welcome guests to receive hospitality in a Sukkah, a temporary shelter that many Jews live in over the course of the festival. Join members of the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council to learn more about and participate in a celebration of Sukkot. For more information click HERE.

3. Equitable Access

Enhanced Library Card-

The Enhanced Library Card (ELC) is a library card that contains a person's full name, home address, date of birth, and picture. In addition to all the benefits of a regular library card, it can serve as a method for verifying identity, particularly for individuals that face barriers getting a state or federal ID. You will need to consult with the organizations/entities with which you would like to use the Enhanced Library Card as part of establishing your identity to determine if/how the Enhanced Library Card can be used for this purpose. Coat Drive 2024-

The City of Dallas Office of Homeless Solutions (OHS), in partnership with the Dallas Public Library, is collecting new or clean gently used adult-sized winter coats. The coat drive will run from November 18 to December 31, 2024. Collection boxes can be found at these locations during normal business hours. If you or your organization want to organize a coat drive, contact the OHS Friends Group Team at [email protected]. Thank you for helping keep our neighbors warm this winter. RISE Concert- 4:00 to 6:00pm Saturday October 5

The Women's Chorus of Dallas and will be performing "RISE," a concert celebrating 35 years. For more information click HERE.

Fire Prevention Week- October 6 to 12

This year's theme for Fire Prevention Week is "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!" The campaign works to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. For more information click HERE.

Cancer Health & Wellness Expo- 9:00am to 2:00pm Saturday October 12

Party for the Recently Deceased- 7:00 to 10:00pm Saturday October 19

Congratulations! You're dead! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your afterlife at this Party for the Recently Deceased: A Beetlejuice-Themed Soirée with a night filled with screams, dreams, and information on navigating your afterlife. For more information click HERE.

ArtsActivate- Round 2 is now OPEN as of September 25

If the Dallas Cultural Plan 2018 taught us anything, it was to engage the communities, neighborhoods, and residents of Dallas through meaningful artistic and cultural experiences. It taught us to look at our city and see where gaps and inequities of cultural access and experience exist. To continue to activate and encourage the intentional creative, artistic, and cultural impact on the residents of Dallas, ArtsActivate calls for arts and cultural projects by our Dallas arts and culture non-profit organizations, social service organizations, individual artists, and artist collectives to engage with communities, old and new, to provide a more equitable, diverse, and supportive arts ecosystem for the City of Dallas. Adult Learning-

Compassion Conference2024- 8:00am to 4:30pm Saturday September 28

Compassionate DFW is hosting this conference: From Empathy to Impact. Learn how to turn empathy into tangible impact as we explore ways to take compassionate actions in different areas of life. Discover how to channel empathy towards creating positive change and making a difference in communities and beyond. Community Resources Meeting- 11:00 am to 12:00pm Tuesday October 15

A Right to Stay- 5:30 to 7:00pm Wednesday October 16

Dallas Homeless Veteran Stand Down- 8:00am to 1:30pm Thursday October 17

I Don't Dream About the Future- October 15 to November 15

Dallas Oak Cliff Cultural Center unveils "I Don't Dream About the Future" by artist MOM. MOM crafts contemplative spaces that delve into themes of temporality and the overlap of past, present, and future, broaching the concept of time in new, thought-provoking ways, as per the City of Dallas. The College Festival- 10:00am to 1:00pm Saturday October 5

Parents Advocating for Student Excellence- Classes start Thursday October 17

The Innercity Community Development Corporation (ICDC) invites you to their free "Ultimate House Party, It Feels Good Livin' in the Hood" event. Code Compliance

The City of Dallas Code Compliance Department consists of three divisions: Neighborhood Code, Nuisance Abatement, and Consumer Health. Code Compliance ensures city codes, and ordinances are maintained, so Dallas continues to be a clean and safe city. Code Compliance does this by working with neighborhoods by providing education and building partnerships with non-profits, neighborhood associations, and other City of Dallas departments.

Boards & Commissions

The Mayor and City Council are​ very interested in you serving as a member of a City of Dallas Board or Commission. As an interested resident and community leader, you can provide invaluable service to the City of Dallas through your membership​​ and participation.
