Willkie represented the management of Bamboo, a homeowners' insurance provider, in connection with White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd.'s (NYSE: WTM) sale of Bamboo to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners. The transaction values Bamboo at $1.75 billion.
On October 3, White Mountains announced that it signed a definitive agreement to sell a controlling interest in Bamboo, a data-enabled insurance distribution platform providing homeowners' insurance and related products to the residential property market in California and Texas, to funds advised by CVC. White Mountains will retain an approximately 15% equity stake in Bamboo post-closing, valued at $250 million based on the transaction.
Willkie previously advised Bamboo in its sale of a majority stake to White Mountains in 2023.
The Willkie team was led by partners Gregory Astrachan, Howard Block and Augustine Donati and included partners Christopher Peters and Scott Thompson and associate D'Andrey Miller.
