Southfield Seniors Featured in Local News for Weekly Bridge Program

A group of active seniors in Southfield is gaining attention for the connections and community they have built through a weekly bridge game.

Recently featured by WDIV Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit, the story highlights residents who gather regularly through programs offered by the Southfield Parks & Recreation Department. Many of the participants are in their 90s and beyond, demonstrating that staying socially connected and mentally engaged can play an important role in healthy aging.

For many of the players, the weekly bridge games are about more than cards. The gatherings provide a welcoming space to build friendships, share stories, and stay active within the community.

The City of Southfield is proud of the work being done through Parks & Recreation programs that support older adults and create opportunities for residents to stay connected and engaged.
