Redding, Calif. - On Nov. 12, the Bureau of Reclamation will close the Clear Creek Tunnel for maintenance and repairs.
The Tunnel, which is 17.5 feet in diameter and 10.7 miles long, conveys water from Lewiston Reservoir through the Judge Francis Carr Powerhouse into Whiskeytown Reservoir.
The temporary closure of the tunnel will cause water levels at Whiskeytown Reservoir to fluctuate as water will not be diverted from the Lewiston Reservoir.
Work being done on the Tunnel includes routine inspections and concrete repairs. The Tunnel is scheduled to be closed until April 2025.
