BMT Recognised in Thetius Top 150 for Driving Maritime Innovation

BMT has been named in the Thetius Top 150, the annual list compiled by maritime innovation intelligence firm Thetius that identifies the world's most innovative organisations shaping the future of maritime. BMT was selected in the corporate category from more than 4,900 organisations tracked on the Thetius IQ platform, based on their contribution to advancing technology in the industry over the past 12 months.

The recognition reflects BMT's continued commitment to developing practical, forward-looking solutions that help customers navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving maritime landscape. By combining deep domain expertise with advanced digital technologies, autonomy, simulation and systems engineering, BMT is supporting safer, more efficient and more sustainable maritime operations.

Recent innovation milestones include the unveiling of MODUS at DSEI 2025, BMT's modular uncrewed ship concept designed to meet the growing demand for medium and large uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). BMT also collaborated with HydroSurv and South Devon College on the Innovate UK-funded ROC + DOCK project, which successfully demonstrated autonomous deployment, recovery and recharging for zero-emissions USVs on the River Dart, advancing the real-world application of autonomous vessel technologies. In addition, the organisation opened its Digital Innovation & Simulation Centre (DISC) in Fareham in early 2026 to support the development and integration of hybrid fleets and autonomous vessel operations.
