Readout of Ambassador Greer’s Call with China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng

WASHINGTON - This morning, United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent held a videoconference with Vice Premier He Lifeng of the People's Republic of China regarding the U.S.-China trade and economic relationship.

During the call, Ambassador Greer emphasized the critical importance of China taking concrete actions to fully implement its past commitments, particularly as they relate to agricultural purchases, rare earths, and other critical minerals. The Trump Administration will continue to pursue balanced trade with China by monitoring compliance of past commitments while unlocking lasting benefits for American farmers, ranchers, manufacturers, and workers.
