City of Long Beach to Host Monster Mash Halloween Celebration at Lincoln Park

Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM), in partnership with the Long Beach Public Library, will host Monster Mash, a frightfully fun Halloween festival, at Lincoln Park (101 Pacific Ave.) on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. This free, family-friendly celebration will feature a variety of themed activities and promises to be a day full of festivities, joy and community connection.

"Monster Mash is a great way for families to come together and get into the Halloween spirit," said Mayor Rex Richardson. "We encourage the community to join us in Downtown Long Beach for a free, frightfully fun and safe Halloween celebration."

Monster Mash will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature carnival games, balloon animals, a cake walk, themed arts and crafts including a popsicle scarecrow decorating station, and other activities. Young ghouls and goblins are encouraged to dress in their most creative, family-friendly costume and show it off during a costume parade, as well as trick-or-treat hunt inside the adjacent Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway), taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Attendees will also have the chance to win prizes by marking off their completed activities on their Monster Mash passport and dropping their earned opportunity drawing tickets into their preferred prize basket. In order to receive a passport, attendees must check in and receive a bracelet upon their arrival. Free parking will be available in the Civic Center Parking Garage (332 W. Broadway) for the duration of the event.
