AIDS Walk Los Angeles to Take Place in City of West Hollywood on Sunday, October 12

The City of West Hollywood is getting the word out that the 41st annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles will return to West Hollywood Park, located at 647 N. San Vicente Boulevard, on Sunday, October 12, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. This year's event, themed Community is the Cure, invites Angelenos to come together for a day of solidarity, awareness, entertainment, and fundraising in support of critical HIV/AIDS services throughout Los Angeles County. Registration for participants is now open here.

Due to the AIDS Walk, there will be limited street and lane closures in West Hollywood. Drivers should expect delays and plan accordingly.

Street closures will occur as follows on Sunday, October 12, 2025:

  • N. San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue: 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lane closures will occur as follows on Sunday, October 12, 2025:

  • Southbound lane of N. La Cienega Boulevard at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Both southbound lanes of N. Doheny Drive at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Both northbound lanes of N. Doheny Drive at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Westbound lane of Melrose Avenue between N. Robertson Boulevard and N. Doheny Drive will be limited to local access. (Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the intersection of N. Doheny Drive at Santa Monica Boulevard.)
  • N. Doheny Drive from Rangely Avenue to Melrose Avenue - (North side traffic will be diverted east on Melrose Avenue): 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • N. Doheny Drive from Carmelita Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard - (South side traffic will be diverted west on Sunset Boulevard): 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

West Hollywood Park impacts will occur as follows on Saturday, October 11, 2025, and Sunday, October 12, 2025:

  • Basketball courts will be closed on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday October 12.
  • Dog parks will remain open on Saturday, October 11 with access via alternate gates.
  • Dog parks will be closed on Sunday, October 12 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Dog park gates will reopen on Sunday, October 12 at 2 p.m. with access via alternate gates.

Following a temporary hiatus, service for The PickUp is anticipated to resume and details about the restart will be announced soon. In connection with the temporary closure of Santa Monica Boulevard for AIDS Walk Los Angeles on Sunday, October 12, The PickUp's service will begin one hour later than usual; service will operate from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. instead of the regular 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. schedule.

To avoid traffic and parking delays, event participants are encouraged to use alternative modes of transportation such as ride sharing services or Metro. Some public parking structures/lots will offer a limited amount of parking at the following locations for a fee on Sunday, as follows (please note that some locations are not immediately adjacent to West Hollywood Park):

  • Bonner Lot, 8700 Beverly Boulevard (metered)
  • Kings Road Parking Structure, 8383 Santa Monica Boulevard
  • La Jolla/Havenhurst Lot, 1043 La Jolla Avenue (metered)
  • Melrose Lot, 8759 Melrose Avenue (pay-by-plate)
  • Orange Grove Lot, 1114 N. Orange Grove Avenue (pay-by-plate)
  • Robertson Lot, 617 N. Robertson Boulevard (pay-by-plate)
  • Spaulding Lot, 7718 Santa Monica Boulevard (pay-by-plate)
  • Sunset Lot, 8775 Sunset Boulevard
  • West Hollywood Park Five-Story Structure, 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard, due to the N. San Vicente Boulevard closure, enter from N. Robertson Boulevard/El Tovar Place.

AIDS Walk Los Angeles participants can hop on one of several Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus lines that connect to the City of West Hollywood, including: 4, 10, 30/330, 105, 212/312, 217, and 218. What began as a grassroots movement has since united thousands of community members, advocates, and supporters, raising nearly $100 million over the years to combat HIV/AIDS. Proceeds from the walk directly fund APLA Health's wide-ranging services, including HIV specialty care, sexual health services, food and nutrition support, housing assistance, and more. Today, APLA Health serves more than 22,000 clients annually across eight locations throughout Los Angeles County. In 2024, AIDS Walk Los Angeles raised $1.16 million to support these vital programs and services.
