London / Dubai-Dentons corporate partner Nik Colbridge will be relocating from London to the firm's Dubai office to expand its equity capital markets (ECM) practice in the Middle East.
Nik will be based in Dubai from mid-June 2025. Nik joined Dentons in 2015 and has spent the past 10 years in the firm's London office, advising clients on international financing transactions principally within the capital markets.
He represents corporate issuers and financial institutions in public and private international equity, securities offerings and joint ventures, with a strong emerging markets focus.
Paul Jarvis, CEO of Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East, who is based in Abu Dhabi, said: "Nik's move contributes to our strategic focus on the Middle East as a fast-growing legal market with increasing requirements for capital markets expertise."
"Dentons has an incredibly strong brand in the Middle East, having had a presence in the region for more than 50 years and an established network of offices that allows us to provide local support to clients backed by international capability and reach."
Nik Colbridge, corporate partner said: "I am hugely excited and optimistic about this opportunity to create a centre of Dentons expertise for ECM in the Middle East.
"There is a long tail of privatisation work in the region, and a flourishing segment of emerging companies looking at capital markets as a possible route to growth.
"Our global ECM practice continues to expand in line with demand and this move brings us closer to the clients in the Middle East region and adjacent regions, including Africa and Central Asia."
Dentons has seven offices in the Middle East, based in: Amman; Abu Dhabi; Doha; Dubai; Jeddah; Muscat; and Riyadh.
Nik's relocation to Dubai follows the appointment of Ahmed Butt, who joined the office in January this year as a partner in the Banking and Finance team, while both Faris Shehabi and Hazel Shakur Quinn were both promoted to the partnership in Dubai in May.
In addition to lawyers qualified to practice local law, the firm also operates and busy and successful secondment programme for lawyers based in other parts of the firm to visit and work in the Middle East.
