The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is providing an update on one of our longest outstanding missing person cases, which has remained under investigation for more than 25 years.
40-year-old Regina Bos was reported missing on October 17, 2000. She was last seen leaving Duggan's Pub in downtown Lincoln and never returned home. She would now be 66 years old.
LPD recently received a new lead which prompted additional investigative work in the case in July and August. While the results of those efforts are not yet known, investigators continue to follow the information and determine where it may lead. Because this remains an active and ongoing investigation, LPD is not releasing specific details about the methods being used to protect the integrity of the investigation and respect the privacy of the family.
LPD recognizes that behind every missing person case are loved ones who carry the weight of uncertainty and hope. Our hearts are with Regina's family and all loved ones facing this unimaginable reality. Our investigators remain in contact with them, assuring them of our commitment to finding answers.
Our team continues to work on missing person cases regardless of when they were reported. Investigators now have access to new technology and forensic capabilities. Those advancements can provide new opportunities to examine information and evidence in ways that were not possible when the investigation began.
LPD is asking the community to help us continue that work. If you have information about this case or any others - even if it seems insignificant, outdated or something you believe investigators may already know - we want to hear from you. Information that may not have seemed important years ago could have new significance today.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600, report online at lincolncrimestoppers.com or download the free P3 app.
No matter how many years have passed, no lead is too small.
