DANVILLE, Pa. - Geisinger Medical Center continues construction work to expand and modernize the hospital campus and provide more health care services and resources to the region.
Because ongoing work will impact access to the Danville campus, patients and visitors can reach their destination efficiently and safely using these tips:
• The new Medical Center Drive in front of the hospital is for vehicle traffic only. Use this road only for drop-offs/pickups at the Abigail (main) entrance and for valet parking. No pedestrian traffic is allowed on this road during construction.
• Anyone using the parking lots or parking garage should enter the hospital through the Hospital for Advanced Medicine entrance.
• The East entrance is only for those with appointments in the women's health pavilion or going to labor and delivery.
• The emergency room in the back of the hospital continues to operate normally with 24/7 care.
• The upper Pine Barn Inn parking lot is closed due to construction. The other Pine Barn Inn parking lots are for restaurant or hotel guests only.
• Patients and visitors should allow an extra 15 minutes to arrive at their appointments due to possible traffic and potential construction impacts on campus and inside the hospital.
Construction in front of the hospital is expected to continue over the next few years, with a new 11-story tower and parking garage set to open in 2029.
Visitors and staff should be aware of their surroundings and of heavier traffic on campus throughout the construction project.
