KC Water presented the 2024 Annual Floodplain Management Plan Progress Report for the City of Kansas City, Missouri to local and federal officials this week.

This report is required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the City to remain in FEMA's National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), which provides flood insurance to eligible property owners, renters and businesses. In addition, the City participates in the NFIP's Community Rating System (CRS), a voluntary incentive program offered to local communities to provide policyholder premium discounts based on the activities that communities undertake above the minimum required for NFIP qualification.
