Barclays announces Wee Yee-Yeong to lead Private Bank in Singapore

Singapore, 22 September 2026 - Barclays today announces the appointment of Wee Yee-Yeong as Head of Private Bank Singapore and Head of Private Bank Asia. Based in Singapore, he will lead Barclays' private banking business in Singapore and drive a market-led approach for the region, working closely with the Private Bank's wider distribution teams serving international Asian clients. He will join Barclays later this year. Private Bank India will remain under the leadership of Adrish Ghosh, who will continue to report directly to Annabelle Bryde, Head of Private Bank International.

Yee-Yeong joins Barclays Private Bank from Morgan Stanley, where he is currently Chief Executive and Head of Sales for the firm's Singapore wealth management business. He brings more than two decades of experience building wealth management franchises, leading teams and advising ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients across Asia Pacific. He has previously held senior leadership and client coverage roles at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will succeed Alexander Harrison in his capacity as Interim Head of Private Bank Singapore.

Throughout his career, Yee-Yeong has built a strong track record and extensive experience serving internationally mobile entrepreneurs, wealth creators and family offices across the region. His expertise will support Barclays in deepening relationships with clients seeking access to international wealth corridors and those with banking, investment and financing needs spanning multiple markets.

The appointment follows the recent launch of Barclays Private Bank's Singapore booking centre and reinforces the bank's commitment to expanding its presence in one of the world's most important wealth management hubs. Together, these milestones strengthen Barclays' ability to serve clients across multiple markets and provide access to the combined capabilities of its one Barclays model, spanning Private Bank, Corporate Bank and Investment Bank across banking, investments and financing.

Annabelle Bryde, Head of Barclays Private Bank International, said: "Singapore is a key market for Barclays and an important gateway to growth across Asia Pacific. Yee-Yeong's deep regional expertise, strong leadership credentials and client relationships will help us build on the momentum we have established in the region. His appointment marks an important step in the next phase of our growth strategy as we continue to deepen relationships with entrepreneurs, UHNW clients and family offices across the region."

Jaideep Khanna, CEO, Asia Pacific, Barclays, said: "Asia Pacific is a strategically important region for Barclays, and Singapore is central to our long-term growth ambitions. The recent launch of our Singapore booking centre marked a significant milestone in our growth strategy, and Yee-Yeong's appointment represents another important step in that journey. His leadership will help us deepen relationships with entrepreneurs, family offices and international clients, while connecting them to the breadth of Barclays' banking, markets and financing capabilities. I would also like to thank Alexander Harrison for his leadership during this period of transition."

Wee Yee-Yeong said: "Barclays has a differentiated international proposition and strong momentum in Asia Pacific. I look forward to working across the bank to deepen client relationships and support the international needs of entrepreneurs, family offices and globally connected clients across the region."
