Work is to resume, we will reorganise ourselves and hold a steering committee meeting on 28 April

Work is to resume, we will reorganise ourselves and continue to fight for the Hungarian people, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote in a Facebook post on Monday evening, adding that they will hold a steering committee meeting on 28 April.

It has been revealed that at yesterday's elections more than 2,250,000 voters supported the list and candidates of Fidesz and the Christian Democratic People's Party, the Prime Minister said in the video, adding that this is the size of the patriotic side, "our political community" in Hungary today.

Mr Orbán thanked his supporters, and then recalled that in 2014 with the same number of votes they had scored an enormous election victory, but yesterday, this had only been enough for an honourable performance and defeat.

The voters of the patriotic side can always count on us, the Prime Minister stressed, adding that Fidesz is Hungary's most cohesive political community, has faithfully served the Hungarian people for decades and will continue to do so in the coming years as well.

"Our plan is that together with our voters we will protect the achievements of the patriotic side, in the next few weeks, we will reorganise ourselves, will go to each constituency, will convene our volunteers, activists, Members of Parliament and candidates, while on 28 April we will hold a national steering committee meeting," Mr Orbán said, adding that work has already started.
