Snow clearing update for the week of December 8–12 with parking bans now in effect

Parking bans on permanent snow routes and residential snow clearing begin today, Monday, December 8 at 11 a.m.

The parking ban restricts parking on Priority 1 and Priority 2 roads from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday, until the ban is lifted. These restrictions help ensure safe, timely and efficient access to roadways for snow removal crews, emergency services and transit operations.

Snow Clearing Progress and Focus Areas

  • Priority 1 routes were cleared over the weekend. City crews are now focusing on Priority 2 roads heading into Hillside and Crystal Heights and are continuing ice control on both Priority 1 and Priority 2 routes.
  • Residential snow clearing also begins today, with contracted crews working in Hillside, VLA, Montrose and Mountview as part of the Monday Week A neighbourhood rotation.

Temporary Residential Parking Bans

  • Residents in Hillside, VLA, Montrose and Mountview are reminded that temporary parking bans are in effect on their residential streets during their clearing day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keeping vehicles off the road supports complete, efficient clearing.
  • Residents are also reminded to remove parked vehicles from Priority 1 and Priority 2 roads during the permanent parking ban. A notice will be shared on the City's website and social media channels once the ban is lifted.
