DALLAS - Teachers across Dallas ISD are back in the classroom and preparing their spaces for the 2026-2027 school year. VISUALS: 800 new teachers start their legacy in Dallas ISD
More than 800 new teachers officially began their Dallas ISD journey last week at the district's New Teacher Academy at the Winspear Opera House. The event welcomed educators from a highly competitive pool of more than 15,000 applicants, with Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde, Ed.D., offering remarks as the district's newest team members gathered to prepare for the school year.

Enroll in Dallas ISD's Universal pre-K
With the first day of school just around the corner, it's not too late to enroll in Dallas ISD's Universal pre-K program. Eligible 3 and 4 year olds can attend high-quality pre-K that builds the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for a successful start to school. Families are encouraged to enroll now at no-cost, and secure their spot in time for the first day of school on Aug. 11.
