U.S. News Names Emory Nursing School Bachelor’s Program No. 1 in the Nation

The Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing's Bachelor of Science (BSN) program is No. 1 in the nation, according to rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report.

With this ranking, the school is No. 1 in BSN and master's degree programs among U.S. nursing schools.

The Emory School of Nursing has been in the top five in the U.S. News BSN rankings since they began in 2021.

"Having two No. 1 programs is a remarkable achievement," says Dean Linda McCauley, PhD, RN, FAAN, FRNC. "It shines a light on our commitment to visionary nurse leadership and our efforts to enhance the profession and health care. I am delighted for our entire school community."

The school has steadily grown over the past several years, reaching a total enrollment in Fall 2024 of 1,450 students, 340 of which are BSN students. The BSN program includes a traditional, in-person program and an accelerated program for distance learners with a previous bachelor's degree. Students have access to national and international service-learning, professional development, and opportunities to work alongside faculty in policy, advocacy, and research.

"We have invested greatly in the development and growth of our BSN program, and this top ranking is a tremendous validation of this effort," says Associate Dean for Education Beth Ann Swan, PhD, RN, CHSE, FAAN, ANEF. "I appreciate our faculty and staff and am proud of our alumni and students, who are among the best and brightest in the nation. We are excited to see how they shape the profession as they graduate."

Schools are included in the U.S. News survey if they have bachelor's-level accreditation by either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. To view the U.S. News & World Report rankings methodology, click here.
