Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Announces First Round of 2026 US House Endorsements, Backing 13 Moms Demand Action Volunteers and Everytown Leaders

Endorsements Across Arizona, California, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, and Pennsylvania Include Some of the Nation's Most Competitive Battleground Districts

NEW YORK - Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced its first round of 2026 Congressional endorsements, backing 13 Moms Demand Action volunteers and Everytown leaders running for the U.S. House across nine states. With some running in the nation's most competitive battleground districts, these races will help decide control of the U.S. House - and whether the next Congress acts as a check on the Trump administration's efforts to gut federal gun safety laws.

"The path back to a gun safety majority in the U.S. House will be blazed by the 13 candidates we're endorsing today, who include challengers running to flip some of the most competitive seats in the country," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "Everytown will do everything in our power to help these candidates flip the House and hold the Trump Administration accountable for putting the whims of an extremist gun lobby ahead of public safety."

"For more than a decade, Moms Demand Action volunteers have been organizing in their neighborhoods, sitting through statehouse hearings, and turning out voters in races up and down the ballot - and the 13 candidates we're endorsing today are exactly what that organizing makes possible," said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. "Our grassroots army of volunteers will be with each of them every step of the way between now and November."

In 2021, Everytown Victory Fund launched the Demand a Seat educational program to train grassroots volunteers and gun violence survivors to take the next step in their advocacy efforts by running for office and working on campaigns. Since then, the program has trained more than 1,400 volunteers across 49 states and Washington, D.C. During the 2025 election cycle, 163 former Moms Demand Action volunteers were up for election, and 67% won in 23 states. They join the ranks of the more than 600 volunteers from 43 states who have run and won since the Demand a Seat program was launched. All told, 15 states now have five or more former volunteers serving in the legislature, and six former volunteers are now serving in the U.S. Congress.
