Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Novus Alaska, LLC
PROJECT NAME: LAS 35854
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: State lands on the North Slope of Alaska. The proposed project area is along the Beaufort Sea coast between Prudhoe Bay and Kavearak Point.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: State land within the following sections:

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Novus Alaska, LLC has applied for a land use permit on state land for off-road travel to conduct geotechnical and geophysical surveying. The survey involves drilling up to 52 boreholes. The boreholes will be approximately 9.5 inches in diameter and range in depth from 20 feet to 200 feet.
REQUESTED TERM: Five years
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: March 5, 2026
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. Comments or questions about this activity should be directed to Becky Baird via email at [email protected].
After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
