READOUT: Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen’s Meeting with Minister of Finance Christian Lindner of Germany
WASHINGTON - Yesterday, Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen met with Germany's Minister of Finance Christian Lindner on the margins of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. During their meeting, Secretary Yellen emphasized the importance of delivering financial support for Ukraine, including through the G7 Leaders' commitment to implement the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) Loans initiative. Secretary Yellen reiterated the need to sustain our historic sanctions coalition and identify avenues for further constraining Russia's ability to wage its war of aggression. Secretary Yellen also discussed international tax issues in addition to Germany's economic outlook.
