Monmouth County Shared Services Year in Review
2025 was a successful year for Shared Services program

FREEHOLD, NJ - As the year comes to a close, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners would like to highlight the success of the Shared Services program, which partners with all 53 municipalities to reduce expenses and enhance operational efficiency.

"Thank you to all of our municipalities that have helped shed light on our wonderful Shared Services program through our newsletter and press release initiative this year, which showed the true advantages of joining our Shared Services program," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Monmouth County Office of Shared Services. "Through our shared efforts, we have strengthened partnerships and continue to work to improve the operations and efficiency of local government in Monmouth County."

Shared Services agreements allow the County to coordinate with municipalities in order to reduce expenses and waste. These services can be road work services, tax software, or participation in agreements with the County, all to eliminate duplication and cut costs.

In the past year, the County also hosted its annual Shared Services Summit, where the County meets with local officials and leaders to strengthen partnerships and improve the effectiveness of the Shared Services program. In addition, Commissioner Director Arnone served as a panelist during the New Jersey League of Municipalities Shared Services panel in November to speak about how the County has managed to create an innovative service that cuts costs and supports cooperation.

"I was honored to serve as a panelist on the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Shared Services panel at the New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference and thankful for the chance to discuss our robust Shared Services program," said Commissioner Director Arnone. "I look forward to expanding our relationship with the State and our municipalities so that we may improve the quality of services for residents."

The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners invites all municipalities in Monmouth County to take full advantage of these opportunities through its Shared Services program.

"Monmouth County is grateful for its partnerships and we commend the municipalities that participate in the Shared Services program," said Commissioner Director Arnone. "As we approach 2026, the County is actively evaluating new services aimed at reducing costs for our municipalities. My fellow Commissioners and I are committed to continually seeking opportunities to support our local governments through Shared Services Agreements."

The Monmouth County Office of Shared Services facilitates partnerships with local government entities, providing services, equipment, and resources to help reduce costs and increase efficiency.
