(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - Some of Ohio's best road trips begin with a tee time.
TourismOhio is inviting travelers to explore the state through its newest travel experience, the Ohio Golf Trail, a first-of-its-kind guide featuring 182 public golf courses across Ohio. Available now at Ohio.org, the trail connects golfers with courses ranging from scenic state parks and lakeside fairways to historic clubs and championship-caliber destinations.
The Ohio Golf Trail celebrates Ohio's rich golf heritage while encouraging visitors to discover the communities, attractions, restaurants, and outdoor adventures that make each stop unique. The guide also highlights major tournaments, golf festivals, and iconic destinations that have helped shape Ohio's place in the game.
"Ohio is home to some of the finest golf courses in the country, and the new Ohio Golf Trail gives residents and visitors an opportunity to experience many golfing destinations across the state," said Governor Mike DeWine. "Whether you are a life-long golfer or picking up the clubs for the first time, this trail showcases some great golf courses for you and your family to enjoy."
"I've spent enough time around golf to know two things: first, Ohio has some great courses, and second, my wife Ellen is a much better golfer than I am," said Lt. Governor Jim Tressel. "Golf is a good way for families and friends to get outside and spend time together. I encourage you to check out what the Ohio Golf Trail has to offer!"

"Golf has a unique way of bringing people together and connecting them to a place," said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development. "Whether you're traveling to watch a tournament, crossing a course off your bucket list, or simply spending a day outdoors with family and friends, the Ohio Golf Trail gives people another reason to get out and explore everything our state has to offer."
Featured stops on the trail include:
The Greater Toledo Classic - Runs July 17-19 at Sylvania's Highland Meadows Golf Club. The Greater Toledo Classic is an official Epson Tour event, the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA, and enters its 46th competitive season in 2026.
Great Ohio Lodge Courses - Five of Ohio's state parks also offer 18-hole golf courses, providing a unique, unmatched experience for the golfer who truly values the scenic beauty available in Ohio.
Clearview Golf Club in Canton - Celebrating 80 years, Clearview is recognized as the first golf course built and owned by an African American, William "Bill" Powell. Today, the golf course is managed by his children, Larry and Renee Powell, LPGA/PGA.
Jack Nicklaus Museum in Columbus - One of the greatest collections of golf memorabilia in the world, for one of the greatest to ever play the sport. Nicklaus founded the Memorial Tournament, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Held annually at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, the tournament brings thousands to central Ohio while showcasing the best golfers in the world.
"You don't have to be chasing a championship to enjoy Ohio's golf story," said State Tourism Director Sarah Wickham. "The Ohio Golf Trail is for anyone who loves the game and believes the best golf trips are about more than what happens on the course."
The guide was curated with assistance from Ohio's County Convention and Visitors Bureaus. Special consideration was given to ensure courses are available to the public or offered without a membership required.
Travelers looking for even more sports-themed adventures can explore the newly refreshed Ohio Sports Road Trip and the Ohio Summer Events Guide. Additional trip-planning resources and seasonal travel inspiration are available on the Summer in Ohio landing page at Ohio.org.
