On November 12, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., East District General Patrol officers attended a short-term rental in the 1-99 block Bonaventure Drive for the report of a domestic incident involving a man acting erratically.
Arriving officers located the involved woman outside and confirmed her wellbeing before entering the residence. The involved man, later identified as 30-year-old, Rueben Taylor WINTER, was found hiding in the basement of the residence. As officers spoke with WINTER, he pulled out a folding knife and lunged at them. Officers immediately grabbed WINTER as he attempted to stab them.
Officers established control after deploying a conductive energy weapon, causing WINTER to drop the knife. WINTER was safely placed in custody and medically cleared on scene by paramedics for minor injuries.
Both officers required hospital care for serious injuries. They have been medically cleared and are expected to make full recoveries.
WINTER is charged with two counts of Assault a Peace Officer with a Weapon and was detained in custody.
