TORONTO― Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark Orthodox Easter:

"Today, Orthodox Christians in Ontario and around the world celebrate Easter, also known as Pascha, the most important feast in the Orthodox Christian faith.

Orthodox Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the triumph of life over death. Worshippers will gather to attend vigils and take part in traditions, including decorating red eggs and sharing a meal to break the fast of Great Lent.

As families come together in faith and celebration, this day is also a time to reflect on renewal, hope and the strength of community.

To everyone celebrating, I wish you a joyful and blessed Orthodox Easter!"
