ATLANTA - State Representatives Eric Bell (D-Jonesboro) and Derrick Jackson (D-Tyrone), as well as State Senator Kenya Wicks (D-Fayette), will hold a press conference to express opposition to the deployment of the Georgia National Guard to support U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 3 p.m. at the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol.
These lawmakers, who are U.S. military veterans, will discuss the implications of deploying the Georgia National Guard and emphasize the need for thoughtful, community centered solutions to address Georgia's challenges.
